THE HAUNTED HOUSE MEME

it's getting to be that time of year: pumpkins, crunchy leaves, creepy guys in masks with large bladed weapons killing people... and ghosts, of course. and where there are ghosts, there are haunted houses.

prompts: 01. halloween horror nights: why would you pay that much money to get scared on purpose? here's your option for theme park-style terror. 02. test of courage: the neighborhood association's putting on a homemade traditional sort of haunted house in one of the local schools, but who cares about whatever fundraiser they're doing, someone just called you a chicken! (at least they'll let you go in pairs or trios if you want to.) 03. at home: wait, what was that noise? there's no one else home! except, maybe, the previous residents. 04. that sounds fake, but ok: poltergeists aren't real, obviously, but that's why you're around instead. time to set up a hilarious tripwire trap! 05. wildcard: or, you know, do whatever you want.

[ and then kuramochi is jumping, and they're close enough he has to take a quick step back so he doesn't get stepped on. he edges far enough away from the mirror he doesn't have to dodge any apparitions reaching through mirrors. ]

Where are we supposed to go ne-- [ he cuts off when there's noise behind them, the hospital bed tipping onto the floor, by the sound of it, and nope. nope, nope, nope. moving for the hallway barely visible in the half light now! (is there even anyone behind him, or was it just the bed getting tipped over for ~effect? who knows.) ]

[he's about to answer nabe's question when he gets cut off by the noise. he turns to look at the source when he catches nabe rushing to get out of the room, and when he sees a shadow looming from where the bed is supposed to be, he gets a small chill down his back. oh shit]

Hey, Nabe? Where'd you go?? [he did hear nabe rushing out the room, so kuramochi hurries out to follow. it wouldn't be a joke if they split up and get lost in a haunted house...!]
