cat in the rain.
[ The rainstorm is unexpected! Hummy doesn't care about weather forecasts, so she'd been completely unprepared for a sudden downpour. Thankfully, Hummy's small and cute, and has managed to find somewhere dry until the worst of it was over.
Things have, by now, settled into a steady drizzle, warm enough that it's no problem for a small cat as she looks at her reflection in puddles and hums her way around the worst of them.
There's one outside one of the big, glitzy stores she's not interested in, however, that gets her attention. It's deep enough to definitely be a satisfying splash, but not deep enough she can't see the bottom, which is good because anything deep enough for that is a little distressing.
With a wiggle of her butt she settles into a crouch, and with a cheer she pounces.
The splash is definitely satisfying. For Hummy, anyway. ]

[As Nanami and her
packmuleassistant part ways, she shakes open her borrowed umbrella into to the faint rain. She should have had proper warning, but it's not the first time someone's slacking has gotten her stuck in the rain. She's just about to sidestep an absolutely enormous puddle when the cat sails straight into it. Nanami shrieks, too loud for such a small amount of water, and sidesteps the splash. Her sound is scoffing, dismissive.] These stray cats are the worst.

Why she yell...The shrieking distracts from the fun of sailing through the air and landing so satisfyingly, with water everywhere. Hummy turns her head up curiously - had something happened simultaneously? Was there a frog, or something? But no. Apparently. Hummy blinks, her big ears twitching with surprise and alarm. ]
Hummy's not a stray!
[ She has a home and a family and she is a fairy! ]

Nanami isn't looking down at Hummy when she speaks, so she misses the movements of her mouth. she glances around for an owner furiously.]
If she isn't a stray, then why would you bring her to town and let her just run around, where she could get hit by a car, or claw someone, or give someone allergies or...
[...There's no one. Nanami turns a full circle, glancing over her shoulder for a master that never materializes. Slowly, ever so slowly, she stops, her eyebrow twitching into her hairline.]
What.
